Video: Sophie, A Horse Rescue Success Story

Meet Amy Herdy and Sophie, her rescue Appaloosa filly. Sophie was rescued from slaughter and later adopted by Herdy, a busy journalist looking to reconnect with her childhood passion for horses through this horse rescue. Their story is being told through a new ongoing series in EQUUS Magazine.

As Herdy worked to write a new chapter in Sophie’s life, however, the Appaloosa filly developed some troubling tendencies and their newfound rapport began to unravel. Herdy soon sought professional help in rehabilitating and training the often-difficult filly.
