It may take a little digging but you can find many non-horse-specific barn incidentals at your local dollar store—or other discounters—that can do the job and save you a significant amount of money in the long run. So here’s our list—start with these items and then see what else you can find!
· A small dry erase/corkboard combination to post beside a horse’s stall for feeding and turnout instructions, or to list upcoming farrier or veterinary appointments. It would also fit nicely on the inside of a trailer door.
· An eight-pocket shoe holder to hang in a tack room or trailer to organize grooming or braiding supplies.
· A large vinyl zippered bag to store blankets, coolers or other horse clothing for the summer months.
· An expandable 10-peg rack with endless possibilities, from hanging towels and rags to dry to organizing hats.
