- ⎯ Edited Press Release
According to news briefs published recently by 3Dprinting.com and 3Dprint.com, North Carolina-based Double D Trailers has announced the launch of the world’s first 3D-printed, sustainable horse trailer. The company says that it expects to build initial model prototypes by the end of 2023.
Double D Trailers has partnered with Polish design company One One Labs and Tennessee-based company Loci Robotics to produce the revolutionary vehicle, which it maintains will have many benefits over a traditionally produced trailer.

An eco-friendly solution
Called the “SafeTack Reverse 2 Horse Bumper Pull Carbon Trailer” according to the company’s website, it will be constructed of sustainable materials in an eco-friendly process and will feature “innovative safety features exclusive to 3D-print technology.”
Double D Trailers owner Brad Heath says that 3D printing solves a lot of the COVID-related supply chain, cost and labor problems while producing vehicles more quickly and accurately.
The 3D-printed trailers will reportedly be constructed mostly of polycarbonate (PC) with carbon fiber reinforcement. PC has been proven in studies to have high temperature resistance, rendering the material more durable.
