The hazards of landscaping waste

Well-intentioned neighbors may think landscape trimmings are a tasty treat for your horse, but some could have deadly consequences.

Pay a friendly visit to all the neighbors who border your property—especially if you spot any potentially dangerous plants in their yards—and explain the risks. If you have a large truck you might even volunteer to collect yard debris for a communal run to the dump to dispose of clippings safely.
