The Super Bowl is less than a week away and, for some of us, the anticipation of seeing a certain iconic duo during the event outweighs any excitement about the game itself. No, not Taylor and Travis (although we are enjoying their story), but the Budweiser Clydesdales and a friendly yellow Labrador.
After giving only a few markets a fleeting glimpse of the beloved horses in a limited-release commerical last year, Anheuser-Busch is bringing the full hitch back for a 30-second ad during the broadcast, with a 60-second version on the company’s digital platforms.

“This year, we’re thrilled to bring our fans a piece of the traditional Super Bowl entertainment that they know and love from Budweiser: the iconic Clydesdales,” said Kristina Punwani, head of marketing at Budweiser USA, in a press release. “We knew there was no better way to show Budweiser’s continued commitment to delivering for its fans than with our biggest celebrities.”
The premise behind the ad is that a fierce winter storm has brought a small town to a standstill and, most worrisome, interfered with the delivery of Budweiser to the local tavern. After the horses themselves seem to suggest it, the team is hitched up to make an old-fashioned delivery. But it’s not all harness bells and good feelings—the storm worsens and the hitch appears lost when…well, we don’t want to spoil it for you. Watch it now or wait to see it during the big game…
