Today is the day we celebrate as the anniversary of Columbus finding himself in the New World, so let’s expand on that theme a bit and talk about finding yourself, period. And in this case, our media is thanks to the book publishing company New World Library, which I thought pretty appropriate for Columbus Day.
While on the surface this is an announcement for a book that is coming out in a few weeks, it is a bit of a celebration in itself of a life spent doing the right thing for horses that have a way of doing the right thing for us.
I haven’t read Lyn’s book but I am familiar with her Thoroughbred rescue work through the LOPE agency in Texas. The book is called Beyond the Homestretch. Thanks to New World Library for creating such a sensitive multimedia announcement, and thanks to Alex Brown Racing for urging me to check this out.
But most of all, thanks to Lyn for having the fortitude to follow her heart or her gut or her path or whatever you want to call it. I hope her book inspires and reaffirms many more people who will follow her lead or realize that, by taking care of the horses who need their help, they’ve been doing the right thing all along.
