EQUUS Magazine Announces Winner of ‘Dogs on the Go’ Photo Contest

July 20, 2016–EQUUS Magazine, in collaboration with Doc’s Products, Horsetech, Planet Dog, and Kent Nutrition Group, is pleased to announce the winner of its “Dogs on the Go” photo contest.

The winning photo features a dog named Loke sharing a moment with a young horse. Taken and submitted by Suzan Sommer of California, the photo depicts the special relationship that horses and dogs often have. “Anywhere the horses are, you can find Loke hard at work,” said Sommer. “Gotta make sure all the babies are where they should be!”

Sommers will receive $700 in toys, health products, feed bowls, treats, polo shirts, hats and gloves from the contest sponsors.

The contest was judged by the EQUUS editorial staff, who sought a compelling image that captured the nature of barn dogs. In all, there were 171 exceptional entries. “There were so many wonderful entries that it was difficult to choose a winner,” says EQUUS Editor Laurie Prinz. “But we’re glad to know that there are so many happy barn dogs around the country and we’ll continue to celebrate them with our special Barn Dog section.”
