In a recent post on its social media page, the Homes for Horses Coalition announced it is offering a free Zoom webinar on barn fire prevention. Titled “What Does Barn Fire Prevention Really Look Like? Practical Examples in Equine Facilities,” it is scheduled for 2 pm ET on March 31, 2026.

“Four hundred and forty-nine horses were killed in barn fires in the United States between 2022 and 2025. Preparation can help save lives—learn what you can do to reduce fire risk on your farm,” the post reads.
“In our upcoming webinar, we will examine practical fire prevention strategies for horse facilities with Rebecca Gimenez Husted, highlighting what works, what doesn’t, and why facility management plays a critical role in reducing risk.
“We’ll cover simple, actionable improvements, the importance of rehearsed emergency response plans, and real-world case studies from the past year in the United States, including both successful saves and tragic losses. In addition, zoom out with Allie Granger of the Animal Welfare Institute and learn just how common barn fires are across the nation.”
Interested parties may register for the webinar using this link.
